Palliative Care

Palliative care is a comprehensive approach to medical care that focuses on improving the quality of life of patients with serious or terminal illnesses. Palliative care aims to control pain and other symptoms, as well as to provide emotional, spiritual and social support to both the patient and his or her family.

Palliative care is based on the idea that each person is a unique individual and that every illness is different. Therefore, palliative care is tailored to the specific needs of each person and focuses on providing compassionate, personalized care that takes into account the perspective and wishes of the patient and family.

They may include pain and other symptom control, as well as emotional and spiritual support for the person and his or her family. In addition, palliative care may include issues such as advance care planning, decision making, and bereavement support.
